We are sorry to announce that English Touring Opera’s season of work at Hackney Empire, including all performances of The Turn of the Screw, The Knot Garden and Greek will no longer take place in October 2020. We are working with ETO to arrange an alternative presentation for the Autumn period, which will take place instead of these shows. Please click here for a statement from ETO regarding this.
A ghost story set in a remote country house. A Governess is employed to look after two young children, Flora and Miles. Something isn’t right. A haunting presence kindles her fears and dashes her hopes as she works to protect the children.
Adapted from the chilling novella by author Henry James, ETO presents Benjamin Britten’s thriller.
ETO’s new production is directed by Amy Lane and conducted by Dane Lam, with innovative designs and period costumes by David Roger.
This is obviously a very challenging time for us as an organisation and we would ask you to bear with us until we are able to confirm the new repertoire. We will contact you again as soon as we have the details of the new performances confirmed. If you need any clarity on this please contact box.office@hackneyempire.co.uk.
