Our Community Choir is a weekly space for anyone who loves to come together to sing and have fun.

When: Thursdays, 7 – 9pm

Where: Hackney Empire

How much: £5 per week (£3 for concessions)

Everyone is welcome to join our choir, well known for its infectious energy and joyous sound. You’ll learn an eclectic mix of music which embraces the cultural diversity within the choir, plus it’s a great chance to meet new friends, sing your heart out and most of all, enjoy yourself.

Hackney Empire's Community Choir is led by professional musician and choir director Joseph Roberts. The choir has been growing from strength to strength under Joseph’s expert eye and have performed with various recording artists such as Leona Lewis, Dr Meaker, Judy Collins, John Luther Adams (Proms 66), Dr Andre Thomas, The London Symphony Orchestra, and The Grand Union Orchestra to name but a few. We founded our choir with Joseph and Sharon D Clarke MBE (Olivier Award winner) in 2010.

Our Community Choir is a celebrated part of our Learning and Participation work, and members are regularly invited to perform in our community and across London.

Please note that the weekly sessions are not public performances.
