THE KNOT GARDEN

09 Oct 7.30pm

Michael Tippett’s third opera is a compelling play-within-a-play.

Six emotionally charged people arrive at a country house with a knot garden, a sort of maze. While they each find their way through the maze, they are manipulated by psychotherapist, Magnus. He encourages them to take on characters from Shakespeare’s great play, The Tempest, while they work through their relationships.

ETO’s new production will be directed by David Freeman, revisiting his seminal production for the Royal Court Theatre (1984). Conducted by Richard Baker.

Sung in English with English surtitles

GREEK
