The Best New Song Prize is awarded on an annual basis recognising an outstanding song from a new musical, written by a member of Mercury Musical Developments, the UK’s largest membership organisation dedicated to developing new musical theatre writing. 12 finalists selected from 175 applicants will have their songs showcased by West End performers at this celebration concert of new musical theatre writing. A panel of industry judges, including composer George Stiles, will award the prize and the winner receives £1,000 towards developing their work.
During the day of the Song Prize concert, BEAM2021 will be taking place, the UK’s biggest showcase of new musical theatre.
