The Royal Court & Hackney Empire New Writing Project

The Royal Court and Hackney Empire have created a new writing project for aspiring young lyricists, poets and writers in Hackney. This is a project for anyone aged 14 – 19 who wants to be heard, whether or not they’ve written before.

Writing & Performance Taster-Workshop

We are offering  school/organisation a free writing and performance taster-workshop, to give your young people an idea of what to expect from the programme and also to let everyone get to know us and what we do.

The workshop is approximately one hour per class of thirty,  subject to availability we are happy to offer multiple workshops for different classes in the same day as we feel this opportunity will benefit both Drama and English classes.

The Writers Room - 6 Week Workshop with Robin French

Young Writers  aged 14-19 years will work with Hackney Empire, Royal Court and industry professional Robin French writer and producer, known for Crocodile (2014), Cuckoo (2012) and Roommates (2009).   We aim to nurtures, supports and develop the next generation  of writers.  Over the six week’s you will have a chance  to learn how different artists approach script writing  and  will give you a valuable insight into the industry and a safe space to experiment and shape  your  own work.

Date: 4th October- 22nd November  (excluding 25th October)

Time : 5.30pm – 7.30pm
