Card details will only be used for the purpose of handling an individual transaction.
The Personal Information you supply when you join one of our e-mail lists will be used by the Hackney Empire to keep you up-to-date with events and activities organised by the Hackney Empire. When purchasing tickets you are given the opportunity to opt in to receiving news and information from the Hackney Empire and its co-producers, visiting companies and other arts organisations. When joining one of our e-mail lists you are given the opportunity to opt in to receiving information from other arts organisations and our sponsors. The Hackney Empire will only pass on your Personal Information for marketing purposes if the relevant box has been ticked.

5. Use and disclosure of Personal Information
5.1 If you contact us we reserve the right to keep a record of that correspondence and incorporate the information it contains into our database
5.2 If we are required by law or requested by the police or a regulatory or government authority investigating potentially illegal activities to provide information concerning your activities whilst using the network we shall do so. We may also disclose Personal Information to appropriate third parties to assist in anti-fraud checks and investigations.
Other artistic organisations
5.3 Many of the events at the Hackney Empire are presented or are in partnership with other organisations such as the English Touring Opera, Royal Shakespeare Company and other artistic organisations and promoters. If you select ‘Keep me up to date with news from the artists, companies or producers whose events I’ve booked, we will tell the relevant organisations that you would like to hear from them, and we will let them know about your booking. This means that we will give them your name and contact details and that they may contact you again to re-affirm your consent to receive communications directly from them. We will not share sensitive information or your payment details.
6. How we protect information
6.1 We take every precaution to protect your information. To this end all Personal Information stored by us is kept on servers in a secure environment. Save as agreed by you for marketing purposes, only employees and approved contractors/developers we may appoint from time to time, and who need the information to perform a specific job, are granted access to personally identifiable information.
6.2 Regular security reviews are held by us to ensure that the site remains safe and secure for your protection.
7. Surveys and Promotions
From time to time we conduct surveys and promotions and may request information from you as part of these. Participation in these is entirely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose any information which might be required. 7. Creative Learning
Where we are working with you individually, or over a sustained period of time, for example in one of our Creative Learning projects, we may need to collect additional information from you including, for example, medical details, educational attainment, details of prior artistic experience and details of any learning difficulties or special access requirement. This information will be used by our project team in order to plan and deliver the very best artistic and educational experiences for you, to keep participants safe throughout their experience with us, and may be passed to emergency services for use should any emergency situation arise.
We will always seek your consent for the above at the time we collecting your information, and, where we need to collect this information in respect of children or young people we will ask parents or guardians to provide the information and consent to its use for the purposes described.
